If you’re looking to get immensely high quality sounding headphones and bang for your buck, the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x is for you. There’s a reason these headphones made it to the Top 5 Headphones of 2017 List here at SoundSystemReview.com after all. Not everyone has $300-$400 to drop on a pair of headphones, and users seeking to maintain a high level of audio performance while shopping at a modest price level should be pleased to know the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x has you covered.

In terms of sound, the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x are very well built and provide a balanced sound and high bass quality. The ear padding also fits exceptionally well, and isolate ambient noise while remaining comfortable even after hours of prolonged use. The headband is also very durable and professionally constructed, and each ear cup can swivel up to 90 degrees allowing easy user adjustment. Overall, wearing the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x is enjoyable, and the headphones certainly feel and function as high end, high performing headphones.

The Audio-Technica ATH-M50x also come with multiple cables of varying lengths and can easily be used on a mobile device or laptop. Packing up your headphones during travel is also easy with the ATH-M50x, and the headphones are durable enough to withstand extended use and being packed in a bag or suitcase. Granted, due to the mid-range price there are several plastic components, but the main headband is reinforced with metal and the plastic components are thick and durable. Users should not be concerned that the ATH-M50x will break or be damaged easily.

One small downside of the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x is the lack of an integrated microphone, making them impossible to use during phone calls. However, this is really only a small drawback that won’t impact the average user. For the price tag, the sound quality and durability of the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x really makes up for any slight criticism we could make. Users who absolutely require wireless headphones should of course stay away from these headphones, but that’s our only warning.
