Cowin E-7 Active Noise Cancellation Wireless Bluetooth Stereo Headphones Review

It isn’t always easy to decide on a price range when searching for the perfect pair of headphones. High end headphones are certainly a luxury, though sometimes you can still get a lot of bang for your buck with mid-range models. Noise cancelling headphones that actually cancel noise can also be tricky to find for cheaper prices. Thankfully, the Cowin E-7 Active Noise Cancellation headphones have you covered.

The Corwin E-7 have active noise cancelling technology, and do an excellent job at reducing ambient noise. Whether you’re traveling, at work, or relaxing at home, these headphones are designed with the main purpose of blocking out unwanted noise. However, what makes the Cowin E-7 interesting is the ability to switch noise cancellation off at a whim. This feature is rather handy when you’re listening to music in a quiet environment and want a boost in audio quality rather than pure noise cancellation.

In terms of sound quality, the proprietary 40mm large-aperture drivers actually pack a decent punch. You can expect an overall clear sound quality from the Corwin E-7, with high audio quality for most frequency ranges. The bass is fairly deep; nothing extraordinary but certainly impressive for a mid-range pair of headphones. The Corwin E-7 is also fairly lightweight and comfortable, with well fit earcups and a durable headband. The earcups  also swivel up to 90 degrees, and you can wear the Corwin E-7 for extended periods of time without much discomfort.

The Cowin E-7 also comes equipped with an On-Board Mic pulse remote, allowing you to manage calls and quickly adjust your playlist or volume levels. The battery life is also above average, with up to 30 hours of playtime when in Bluetooth mode. The Corwin E-7 also comes included with a 3.5mm audio cable for when you run out of battery, although charging time is fairly fast so you won’t be wired for long.

Perhaps the only downside of the Corwin E-7 is that the headphones are not foldable. They’re certainly durable and constructed with a mix of metal and plastic components, but packing the E-7 can be a bit tricky. However, for the quality the Cowin E-7 provides at such a modest price point, it’s hard to expect the complete package from these headphones.

Why The Corwin E-7 Active Noise Cancelling Headphones Are For You:

  • Noise-cancellation is effective while maintaining high audio quality

  • 30 hour battery life and easy to use Bluetooth

  • Comfortable earcups and solid overall design

  • Modest pricing, great value

Why The Cowin E-7 Might Not Be For You:

  • If you love mass amounts of bass, perhaps search for headphones that aren’t meant to be noise-cancelling

  • If you’re willing to spend a bit more money, you can find headphones that also cancel noise but have an overall better audio quality (like the Bose QuietComfort 35)

Overall Impression:

For headphone hunters looking to buy a cheaper model that will still provide high quality audio and block most ambient noise, the Cowin E-7 is certainly a good match. Comfort, an impressive battery life, and well balanced audio make the E-7 a very well rounded pair of headphones. Audiophiles who need more bass or who might not be interested in noise-cancellation should look elsewhere, but the Cowin E-7 may be the perfect pair of headphones for someone looking to upgrade from earphones or not break the bank.
